The gifted quarterback McCarthy started his high school career at La Grange Park, Illinois’ Nazareth Academy.
His high school was instrumental in helping his team to an incredible 26-2 record and make two trips to the IHSA Class 7A state title game.
Interestingly, in 2018 he won a state championship in his sophomore year.
J.J. carried on his winning ways when he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he led the team to an 8-0 record and the consensus national championship for high school football.
